Multi-pin pressure connectors
The whole harness through one pressure-rated shell – the pin array sealed into the shell as one assembly.
A multi-pin connector puts the whole harness through one sealed interface: the pin array is glass-sealed into the shell as a single assembly, then machined and leak-tested. That is why dozens of conductors can pass through a wall that has room for only one connector.
The outlines here differ mainly in shell diameter, pin count and how the body is fixed into the housing. The interface to your electronics — the pin field — is what you should choose first; everything else follows from it.
What varies between outlines
- Pin count — spread over one to four concentric rings. Higher counts need a larger shell, so pin density and shell diameter trade off against each other.
- Shell body — threaded (with a hex or knurled nut), flanged with mounting holes, or a plain weld-in body.
- Termination — pins, solder cups or sockets, on one or both faces.
- Keying — most shells are keyed so the connector cannot be mated the wrong way round.
Coaxial variants
Two outlines (037 and 038) are coaxial: a centre conductor with a concentric shield, used for perforating and sensor signals where the return path has to be screened. They are counted as two-conductor items here, and use the same glass seal process.
