Calibration Devices for Pressure Instrument Calibration
Calibration devices generate accurate, traceable reference values so that pressure sensors, transmitters and gauges can be verified against a known standard. In a quality system the reference itself has to be traceable, which is why the choice of calibration hardware matters as much as the instrument under test.
Two routes cover most requirements. A dead weight tester defines pressure physically – a known mass acts on a known piston area – and therefore works as a primary standard without needing a reference sensor. A hand pressure pump generates pressure or vacuum manually and is read against a separate reference gauge or calibrator, which makes it the practical choice for on-site work and for testing at the point of installation.
| Family | What it does | Typical use | Products |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dead Weight Testers | Defines pressure with a piston-cylinder system and calibrated masses; primary standard, no reference sensor required | Laboratory reference, calibration certificates, aerospace and automotive | 5 |
| Hand Pressure Pumps | Generates pressure or vacuum manually, read against a reference gauge or calibrator | On-site calibration, commissioning, maintenance | 3 |
