Hand Pressure Pumps for On-Site and Bench Calibration
A hand pump generates pressure or vacuum by hand so that a sensor, transmitter or gauge can be checked against a reference where it is actually installed. The pump carries no measuring element of its own – the reference is a separate gauge or calibrator – so it is selected on range, medium compatibility and how finely the pressure can be adjusted.
Hydraulic pumps reach the highest pressures and take oil or deionised water; pneumatic pumps cover vacuum up to a few hundred bar and keep the setup clean. For laboratory work at very high pressure, a bench comparator with a preloaded pressure rod generates pressure faster and resists contamination carried in from the medium.
