The CIOL-2VO-SC is a dual-channel IO-Link to analog converter that turns digital IO-Link process data into two independent 0–10 V output signals. It closes the gap between a modern IO-Link master and analog actuators, frequency inverters or valve terminals that are still driven by a voltage signal.
Each channel converts the IO-Link output data with up to 12-bit resolution and 0.5 % full-scale accuracy. The value is transmitted as an unsigned 16-bit word in millivolts, so 0–10 V corresponds to 0–10000 and the scaling stays transparent in the PLC. Outputs are limited to 10 V; if a commanded value exceeds that, the output clamps and the yellow status LED flashes. Each channel may be loaded with up to 4.7 kΩ.
The device communicates over IO-Link V1.1 as a Class A device on an M12 A-coded 4-pin male port, while the two outputs leave through an M12 A-coded 4-pin female connector. An external supply of up to 500 mA can be taken from pins 1 and 3 of that female connector to feed the connected load. The transparent housing with RUN, OUT1 and OUT2 LEDs makes commissioning and fault finding straightforward.
Typical applications are retrofitting analog actuators into IO-Link networks, remote parameterisation of valve and drive electronics, and any machine where a PLC should set an analog setpoint without keeping a separate analog output card.
